Privacy Policy
The short version. Tabbi Daily works without an account, and then everything stays on your phone. If you sign in, we keep your email address, your progress and your saved phrases so they follow you to another phone. Recordings of your voice never leave your phone. We do not sell data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics.
Who we are
Tabbi Daily is made by Liha LLC, a California company. This policy covers the Tabbi Daily app only. The Tabbi website at tabbi.ai has its own policy. Contact us at contact@tabbi.ai.
Using the app without an account
You can read, listen, record and keep a streak without signing in. In that case the app stores on your phone only: which days you finished a lesson, phrases you saved, your recordings, your language choice and your notification settings. None of it is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional. It is needed for Ask Tabbi and for keeping your progress across phones. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, which processes the email address, or the name and email Apple or Google share, and a one-time code if you sign in by email. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive only the forwarding address.
We then store, on servers in the United States hosted by Vercel and Neon:
- your email address and a sign-in identifier
- the days you finished a lesson and which activities you did
- the phrases you saved and whether you marked them as known
- your preferred language for explanations
- how many Ask Tabbi questions you asked each day, to apply the fair-use limit
Ask Tabbi
When you tap an Ask Tabbi question, our server sends the lesson text, the kind of question and your chosen language to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the answer. We do not send your name, email or anything you typed, because Ask Tabbi has nothing to type. Anthropic processes this under its commercial API terms, which do not allow it to train models on the data. Ask Tabbi is limited to 15 questions a day and 150 a month per account.
Your voice
Say it uses the microphone only while you record, after you allow it. The recording is saved on your phone so you can hear yourself and compare with the native voice. It is never uploaded. Recording again replaces it, the app keeps only the last seven days, and deleting the app deletes them all.
The native voice
The lesson recordings you hear were generated once by us from the lesson text, using OpenAI's text-to-speech. No information about you is involved.
Notifications
The daily reminder and the streak warning are scheduled on your phone by the app itself. There is no notification server, and we cannot see whether you received or opened them.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking software in the app.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, in the sense of California law or any other.
- No location, contacts, photos or other device data.
- Apple may share aggregated crash reports with us if you opted in on your device. They contain no personal information.
Deleting your data
Settings has a Delete account button. It removes your account and everything stored with it on our servers and on Clerk, then clears the app. You can also email us and we will do it within 30 days. Data on your phone is yours to delete by deleting the app.
Your rights
If you live in California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or anywhere with similar laws, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to contact@tabbi.ai. We keep account data for as long as you have an account and delete it when you do. Our basis for processing is providing the service you asked for.
Children
Tabbi Daily is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so the next time you open it, and this page will show the new date.
